AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as striker. She also captains San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of women's soccer in the United States. From 2018 until 2020, she captained the American women's national soccer soccer team along with Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Shortly after graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. In the team, she made her debut in professional football and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time and was the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was selected for the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
